System Semiconductor Features
The non-memory semiconductor industry is leading in some countries around the United States. In particular, the U.S. has six of the world's top 10 non-memory semiconductor companies, including Intel, Qualcomm, Broadcom, TI, nVidia, and AMD, accounting for 70 percent of the global market. The most representative non-memory semiconductor companies are Intel, which produces chips that are used as central computing devices (CPUs) for computers, and Qualcomm, which makes application processors (APs) that are used for most smartphones. These companies develop non-memory semiconductors based on optimal designs for each device's characteristics, such as computers and smartphones, for example, APs have one-third less performance than CPUs, but are much more power efficient and are designed for smartphones that use batteries as power.
